Historical hat-trick on the cards

The Americans look as if they could be flying home empty-handed as Europe’s finest female professional golfers keep a firm grip on the Solheim Cup, heading for an historical hat-trick in Germany.

 

Team Europe, captained by Carin Koch (Sweden), leads by ten matches to six going into Sunday’s singles at St. Leon-Rot Golf Club in Heidelburg. Europe need to win just four more of the twelve points available in today’s matches to retain the coveted trophy.

 

American Team Captain, Juli Inkster, will need to rally her team significantly to attempt what is an almost impossible mission. I repeat, an almost impossible mission! This is golf, after all, and as the lovely saying goes … “It’s not all over until the fat lady sings!” And, yes, that applies to all golf … whether it be the Ryder Cup, the Solheim Cup, The Open or The Masters … right down to your local club championship and monthly medal.
