A race to the finish

What a delight to see Europe’s finest golfers playing in Dubai in the last event in the European Tour’s “Race to Dubai”!  A race which ended in a nail-biting, good old-fashioned match-play scenario in the DP World Tour Championship between Rory McIlroy (NIR) and England’s Andy Sullivan. Few were surprised by McIlroy’s victory on 21-under par, but the Englishman gave him a real run for his money finishing just one shot adrift.  Rory’s win means a double celebration with the world talent from Northern Ireland snatching the richly-rewarded “Race to Dubai” title for the third time in four seasons.

 

Many congratulations, Rory!  And, well done Andy Sullivan – brilliant!
