FLASHBACK to KLM Open 2014
As former European Tour player, Robert-Jan Derksen celebrated his 42nd birthday on Sunday, 3rd January, we thought it would be an ideal moment to reflect on his last KLM Open, so we’ve scoured our archives at “Golfing Inspirations” for a radio interview with him. And, here it is, complete with the introduction we wrote back in September 2014.
Dutchman Robert-Jan Derksen has an amazing track record in the Dutch Open over the last 19 years. During a pre-tournament press conference Tournament Director, Daan Slooter surprised the golfer from Nijmegen with some impressive statistics. Derksen’s “steady as a rock” play over the years reveals an average of 70.7 strokes per round. Wendy Hoad spoke with the “Flying Dutchman” at the Kennemer about him seldom missing the cut and his expectations for his last KLM Open.
