A lesson in keeping cool after a triple-bogey
Ryder Cup stalwart Thomas Bjorn had a day of amazing mixed fortune in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship (21-24 January) during his opening round. The Dane went out in 32 and was looking good at 4-under par. A birdie then followed at the 13th to get him to 5-under. Minutes later he backed this up with a triple-bogey, 7 on the 14th only to then ace his tee-shot on the next hole. That’s a pretty unusual way to produce level fours! He eventually signed for a 68 and a share of 7th place at the end of day one.
