Memorable and absolutely charming ...

We’re happy to say that the positive vibes flowed the whole way round during our four-ball at Golf de Baugé in the Loire Valley, so we decided to start our very own Golfing Inspirations Visitors Book.  That’s very English, of course, but even our Dutch guest player was keen to add his comments.  For the record, our handicaps ranged from 8 to 28.  This is what we wrote:

 

“Pretty and challenging. Great layout – you hardly see another soul!”

 

 “It’s not so manicured, but it’s nice and natural.  I really like it!”

 

“There’s a lot of variation in the holes making it really interesting to play.”

 

“I really liked the height variations – so unexpected!”

 

“Just so that you remember the course, they stick you up a vertical hill at the 16th!”

 

“It’s a course you definitely want to come back and play again.”

 

 “The wide-open fairways gave me confidence to go for it.”

 

“Baugé is a fair challenge for all handicaps.”

 

“Great greens – they hold well and run true!”

 

“Loved the flora and fauna, especially the tall grasses wafting in the breeze!”

 

“Very pretty holes here – every hole is memorable.”

 

 “We’ll be back. Maybe with a buggy next time, but then we’ll miss the nature trail…!”
