Young amateur steals the show in pro event
Dutch girl Roos Haarman was over the moon to be playing in the Ladies Nations Invitational in Amsterdam (20-22 May). The 18-year old from Putten (yes, it really is a place in Holland!) came in as a last-minute reserve to play for Team Holland alongside Tour pros Christel Boeljon and Dewi-Claire Schreefel and stole the show. She was the only amateur in the tournament and did her country proud by winning all five of her matches at The International. Wendy Hoad of ‘Golfing Inspirations’ spoke with the lovely Roos just moments after her third match triumph. Inspiring, to say the least …!
