Olympic top man winds down with golf challenge
It’s a long way from Rio to Spijk. So what a delight to see Maurits Hendriks cooling down from the buzz of the Olympic Games by playing golf in the KLM Open Charity Challenge at the weekend. The ‘Chef de Mission’ NOC*NSF of the Dutch Olympic Team takes a few minutes at the end of his round to talk to ‘Golfing Inspirations’ about the future of golf in the Olympics and to enthuse about The Ryder Cup. The big question? How on earth does he manage to relax and play golf at the very challenging course, The Dutch – the new venue of the KLM Open (8-11 September) – so soon after his 8th Olympic mission in Rio de Janeiro?
