Swede’s phenomenal season just keeps rolling on
Lovers of golf trivia will love this fact. Alex Noren’s total winning score during his four tournament victories on the European Tour this season is 63-under par! What is more, the 34-year old from Stockholm shot a superb closing round of 63 in Sun City at the weekend to seal his fourth victory.
The Swede continued his phenomenal season in the Nedbank Golf Challenge hosted by Gary Player in South Africa (10-13 November). He finished the tournament in great style on Sunday coming from six behind and carding a total of eight birdies and an eagle at the Gary Player Country Club. With a score of 14-under par, Noren clinched the title six shots ahead of his nearest rival, the 21-year old Korean Jeunghun Wang.
Since July, Noren, now an 8-time champion on the European Tour, has won four times, in four different countries:
Scottish Open, Castle Stuart Golf Links, Scotland (-14)
European Masters, Crans-sur-Sierre GC, Switzerland (-17)
British Masters, The Grove GC, England (-18)
Nedbank Golf Challenge, Gary Player CC, South Africa (-14)
“My little daughter helps me relax … and my caddie keeps me patient on the course. He’s so calm all the time.”
– Alex Noren
It would appear that becoming a father this year is having a really positive effect on his golf!
With this win, Alex Noren now lies third in the exciting final stretch of the Race to Dubai tucked-in behind fellow countryman Henrik Stenson in number one spot and Danny Willett from England.
Unbelievably good! We salute you, Alex!
