Bob beefs up Amsterdam Golf Show

Golf inspiration for all the family this weekend

The sun is shining and the birds are singing.  And this weekend, there’s a Dutch golfer by the name of Bob de Boef who is planning to knock the cover off his golf ball during the Amsterdam Golf Show (29-30 April).  He’ll be looking to improve on his personal European long-driving record of an incredible 372 metres during a demonstration on the opening day.  Yes, it’s true!  There’s a gang of guys out there who travel the world giving demonstrations and challenging the law of physics with their explosive, long-hitting golf swings.  There’s talk of golf balls travelling 470 metres…

So you’re not a golfer, yet?  Well, you too could be enjoying yourself  – golfing! Yes, as the delightful aroma of freshly-mown grass beckons golfers onto the fairways this Spring, I’d like to give you a tip. Even if you think that golf is really not your scene, there is a chance to experience the game and have a go yourself this weekend during the 11th edition of the Amsterdam Golf Show.

Free lessons, free golf on the par-three course, lots of have-a-go competitions with prizes, fashion shows, exhibition stands and for the ‘drive for show’ guys and gals, there’s a chance to chat with Bob de Boef after the long-driving demonstration and find out his secret.  It’s also possible to try-out clubs from the leading manufacturers on the driving range as well as experience the world of wedges and putters.

The absolute beginner is as welcome as the seasoned golfer.  And that means the kids too.  For the third consecutive year, the event is being organised at Amstelborgh-Borchland Sport & Event Centre in Amsterdam by Arthur Beerendonk of Holland Golf Events.

Check out their website for more information and to download your free entrance ticket: www.amsterdam-golf.com.  By the way, there is ample parking on-site at a cost of 5 euros for the day.  Have fun!
