Bernardus Golf provides a great venue in Holland
An inspired Frenchman Victor Perez has flown in from the US PGA Championship in America this week to defend his 2022 KLM Open title which starts today at Bernardus Golf, Cromvoirt in the Netherlands (25-28 May 2023).
Thirty-year old Victor Perez from Tarbes had a wonderful tournament last week at Oak Hill CC in New York where he competed in the second Major of the year, the US PGA Championship. He finished with four solid rounds of 70, 72, 69 and 69 for an impressive share of 12th place. How is the Frenchman feeling now that he is back in Holland? He tees-off at 13.30 with Marcel Siem (Germany) and Holland’s Wil Besseling. Can Perez produce another impressive four rounds at Bernardus Golf and get himself into this year’s Ryder Cup team?
Keep an eye out for Luiten
Thousands of Dutch golf fans will be gathering at Cromvoirt really keen to see Perez in action. Not only that, they are eager to see the home favourite Joost Luiten. The 37-year old was born in Bleiswijk and has won the KLM Open on two occasions – in 2013 and 2016. He is the first Dutch golfer to win the international tournament twice. A third victory this year would be a delight for everyone, especially as Bernardus Golf is Luiten’s home course.
Joost Luiten tees-off at 8.30 in the morning on the 10th hole and is playing with an on-form Adrian Meronk from Poland, who currently ranks as number four on the DP World Tour Rankings after three victories this season, and Romain Langasque (France). Meronk also played with the world’s best golfers in the US PGA Championship in New York at the weekend.
The weather forecast looks very promising for the next few days, so we look forward to seeing you at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt!
