Joost Luiten among 16 Dutch players

Italian Guido Migliozzi makes a happy return to Holland this week when he defends his KLM Open title which he won at The International Golf Club in Amsterdam last year with a score of 11-under par after an exciting play-off with Englishman Joe Dean and the Swede Markus Kinhult.  The 105th KLM Open takes place at The International once again from 5th to 8th June.  Alas, the 3-month spread of glorious sunshine which has reigned over Holland recently has taken a break leaving the players on the European Tour with a rather unpredictable spell of wind and showers.

 

Guido Migliozzi, the 28-year old golfer from Venice, tees-off at 08.00 hours from the 10th hole today with Holland’s Joost Luiten and John Parry from England who rates as number four in the Race to Dubai ranking.

 

Indeed, all eyes will be firmly fixed on the Dutch player, Joost Luiten.  The 39-year old from Bleiswijk has had a number of successes on the European Tour and has already won the KLM Opens of 2013 and 2016.  So he is very keen to clinch his third Dutch Open title.  Last year he finished as the best Dutch player on a score of 6-under par for a share of 15th place with five other golfers.  Could 2025 be Joost Luiten’s year?

 

In fact, there are 15 Dutch golfers in this year’s KLM Open including Darius van Driel, Daan Huizing, Wil Besseling and Wouter de Vries, as well as five amateurs.

 

How will this challenging weather affect the scores at the par-71, 6,914-yard course at The International today?  Well, all I can say is that the 156 players from around the globe will be teeing-off from the 1st and 10th holes all in search of the honour of winning the elusive 105th KLM Open title.  Enjoy the golf!
