Volunteer Paul has "the week of his life" thanks to Tom
There was one particular volunteer who had “the week of his life” in Zandvoort during the last KLM Open. His name is Paul Döhle and he plays golf at Bentwoud in Benthuizen. Lucky Paul was a chauffeur for the players during the Dutch Open where he not only drove a sparkling new BMW M550 diesel around for the whole week, but also had the great honour of being personal chauffeur to none other than Mr Tom Watson. The American golf legend was playing at the Kennemer for the first time much to the delight of the Dutch golf fans.
As darkness fell at the course and the last few press headed for the media car park, Wendy Hoad of “Golfing Inspirations” had a rather charming, chance encounter with the unassuming, chuffed-to-bits chauffeur in his BMW. Paul was enchanted and inspired by Tom Watson. Indeed, just as everyone was at the Kennemer.
